Why I chose to be Jane
I feel like I'm split. At times I can see myself in Daria. At times I can see myself in Jane. I decided to do Jane for my first DragonCon ever. I ran down to the thrift store and the costume shop, and quickly whipped up my first attempt. I retired her soon after, but I didn't retire my desire to cosplay Jane. I bought better fitting clothes and a new wig that I took more time to style. It's slightly Jane-inspired, but it's really hard to find black shorts anymore.
The original t-shirt is the only thing I kept from my original attempt. I simply painted the collar white with fabric paint.
The Buttercup from Arda is great for Jane. It has the off-center part already and is long enough that you can cut it to the lengths needed.
