Costuming and cosplaying involves modifying wigs. Rarely do I get a wig and do absolutely nothing to it. Some have had more work done to them than others.
Below I feature the wigs that have had more intensive styling done to them. I figured I should share the work I put into these wigs so others can learn. That's what this is all about anyway, putting my experiences out there in the hopes that it helps someone else!

GIR
GIR is one of the main characters from Invader Zim. I decided to make a gijinka of him in his robot form. But finding a silver wig in the right style was a pain.
So I colored one. |
The Purple Wig
Being a big fan of the webcomic MegaTokyo, I wanted to do a Miho Tohya costume. Actually I wanted to do a few. The first wig did not work at all. But I couldn't find a wig in the right style and the right color.
So I straightened one. |
Dawn
Dawn is the main character of the comic book series of the same name. My friend and my hubby said I would look great dressed as her. But the original wig I bought was lacking in volume.
So I added another one to it. |
Junpei
Junpei is a regular character in the webcomic MegaTokyo. I had been wanting to make a wig to finish his costume for years, but I just didn't know how to do it. Then I found a tutorial.
